We are thrilled to announce our latest book in the High Country Mystery Series where Sheriff Jeff McQuede attempts to solve the biggest case in his career! Has someone just committed the perfect murder and blamed it on Bigfoot?
The inspiration for this book came when we were returning from a vacation into the high country. Approaching Kansas, we detoured from the main highway and happened upon the Crossroads of America Museum near Hastings, Nebraska, one solely devoted to Bigfoot. We thought the museum, which looked like a private residence, was closed, until the curator, Harriet McFeely, seeing we had started to leave, called and motioned us inside.
This unique museum, hundred of miles away from one like it, featured a Bigfoot replica, complete with a footprint to compare with ours. We spent much time lingering over the huge collection of Bigfoot photos, bones, and branches that bore marks of Bigfoot, and letters and reports from virtually all over the world. Stopping at this out-of-the-way, very magical place seemed almost as if it were meant to be.
We spent the drive back to Kansas discussing many plot ideas for our next novel, until we looked at each other and almost simultaneously agreed, "There's nothing more exciting than Bigfoot!"
But has Bigfoot ever been spotted in Wyoming? The answer is yes, many times, in and around Yellowstone Park and in the numerous forested and mountainous parts of the state. And so our story was born. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed writing it!

When Sheriff Jeff
McQuede’s friend, Barry Dawson, tricks him into attending a Bigfoot convention
at the small town of Trails’ End, he finds the adventure is only beginning. He
is soon invited by the head of the research team, Dr. Adam Kurtz, to hike with
them into the isolated mountains below Lost Man’s Peak where few people ever
venture. McQuede immediately notices friction among the members of the
team—love triangles, resentment, and greed. Professor Callahan has obtained
special funding for the project because of his claim to have encountered
Bigfoot in this area, and Dr. Kurtz intends to call him out for being a fraud.
The first night out trouble erupts. Ted Weiss insists that he spotted Bigfoot
near his camp and tells them he was almost attacked. Is Bigfoot really out
there, or is someone perpetuating a carefully-planned hoax? When murder
follows, McQuede must solve the biggest case in his career!
